Glen MacDonald is a Professor of Geography and of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA.
He grew-up in California and has attended or worked at universities in California, Canada and
England. He is a biogeographer and teaches and conducts research on topics of climate change,
drought, fire, vegetation dynamics, human-environment interactions, environmental restoration
and resource management. He conducts research in the the Arctic regions of Canada and Russia,
the boreal forest of Canada, the western United States - including California, Hawaii and
west Africa. He has won numerous awards for his research, presented his results to scholars,
the general public and print, radio and television media and testified before government bodies
including the US Senate Appropriations Committee. He is an award winning teacher and speaker.
